Heritage Open Days 2018
If you're looking for something to fill the last weekends of summer, you can check out Heritage Open Days, where places that are normally closed open their doors or put on extra activites. There are events all over Lowestoft and you can find the list here: https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/visiting/printable-area-lists/town/Lowestoft
Our own programme kicks off this weekend with storytelling and re-enactment, the weather should be fine, so come and join in!
Silver's Children's Trail launched!
Over the winter break, we started finding acorns hidden in the museum. Then one day, we found out that a squirrel had been using our exhibits to keep their winter supplies in! We've called him Silver, and made him a little nest at reception. But he won't stop leaving acorns around the place- and needs your help to keep track of where they go.
We've had to get a few things in order (squirrels are quite untidy), but we're pleased to say that from Monday the 28th of May, you'll be able to follow Silver's Trail around the museum.
EDP COMMUNITY CHEST
We were highly delighted to read in the EDP this morning that Lowestoft Museum is one of the selected charities to benefit from the EDP community chest funding - we will be given £500 to cover the cost of the two family days this summer which is exactly the amount we had asked for. Many many thanks to those stalwart voucher collectors.
Volunteers from Lowestoft Museum celebrate winning money from the EDP Community chest fund.
